INGREDIENTS
Jivanti Leaves
Bajri/Millet flour- As per requirement
Wheat flour
Salt as per taste
Red chilly powder
Asafoetida
Ajwain/Carom seeds
Green garlic &chillies
Coriander, edible oil for frying as well as kneading the flour
Pinch of eating soda and curd.
METHOD
Wash and chop Jivanti leaves. Take bajri/Millet and wheat flour as per requirement. Add few tbs.of oil and all the above mentioned ingredients and make a dough adding water little by little and also Jivanti leaves. Make small balls and roll it like a chapatti. Shallow fry on an iron girdle with oil and serve hot.
BENEFITS
During the months of September and October Jivanti plant blooms with flowers, fruits and leaves. Consumption of these negates gastric and bile problems. The leaves can be roasted on slow fire in ghee and consumed. Green garlic has calcium, zinc, iron & phosphorous, vitamin B which helps in building body’s immune system.
