INGREDIENTS
One cup boiled water chestnut, grated.
2 spoons deevel (castor) seed roughly ground (this is an edible ingredient and does not harm the body)
¼ cups arvi (Taro root or Eddoe) boiled and grated
2 spoons tulsi(basil) flowers
1 cup desijaggery grated
3 cups cow milk
2 beetrootspeeled, crushed and pressed to remove red colour.
1 spoon fresh coconut grated
Powdered cardamom

METHOD
Take a thick vessel and boil the milk add roughly crushed castor seeds, keep stirring, add grated chestnut, add milk if required and keep stirring. Add boiled and gratedTaro/Eddoe). Allow it to get thick, then add grated jaggery, coconut and cardamom powder and red colour from the beetroot. Put off the gas. The mixture is now thick and red in colour. Add tulsi flowers. Slightly apply ghee on your hands and make balls of the mixture and insert stick and cover it with colourful wrappers. Coat some of them in poppy seeds also for a varied flavour. Can be served with other snacks.
BENEFITS
Beetroot is beneficial for increasing the RBCs. Castor seeds avoids constipation, joint pain and has a cooling effect on the stomach. Chestnut helps in decreasing the swelling as well as backpain and reduces fat cells. Jaggery increased hemoglobin.
